The Dubai Media Office released a statement announcing the ease in restrictions for the elderly (60 and above) and children (12 and below) on Wednesday. The ease in restrictions will be put in place as of Thursday (18 June) where elderly and young children can visit malls, shopping centres and other previously restricted areas.

This restriction only applies to Dubai, the other Emirates elderly above 70 are still not permitted to be in public areas.

This decision was made by the Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai to help those of the active elderly who still function completely by themselves and for those with children and no means to leave them for essential trips.

Precautionary measures are still in place. When in public masks and social distancing are mandatory.
