The COVID-19 precautionary steps, which were enforced at the beginning of February, will be extended until the start of Ramadan in mid-April, according to Dubai's Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, which is led by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The decision is based on an assessment of the emerging COVID-19 situation, evidence demonstrating the efficacy of improved protection initiatives, and frontline authorities' recommendations.

The country's response to the pandemic, according to the Supreme Committee, is part of a detailed COVID-19 response strategy. The Committee praised the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) and the Ministry of Health and Prevention for effectively organizing anti-pandemic measures, and stated that it would continue to track local and international developments to ensure the safety of the public.

The Committee thanked Dubai and the UAE for their swift response to the COVID-19 vaccination campaign. In the UAE, over 5.8 million vaccine doses and over 30 million tests had been administered as of February 25. The country has one of the world's highest rates of vaccination and testing. According to the Commission, these statistics show the UAE's healthcare system's resilience and preparedness.

The Committee urged the public to continue to take precautionary steps, emphasizing that their support is essential in fighting the pandemic. The Committee added that following prevention procedures and protection recommendations are also the most successful way to fight the virus.

If you notice any individuals or institutions who breach COVID-19 precautionary steps you are encouraged to report them to Dubai Police's Call Centre 901 or the 'Police Eye' service in the Dubai Police Smart App.
