As per the directive of the Dubai Police, all bars and pubs have been sent a notice to stop serving alcohol as of today (June 24) until further notice.

The circular stated “We would like to inform you that it has been decided to close all bars and pubs and stop serving alcoholic beverages as of Wednesday 24/06/2020 until further notice. Kindly inform and abide by the decision to close in order to avoid legal issues. You will be notified to restart at a later time.”

Establishments with a restaurant license will still be allowed to serve alcohol while maintaining the regulation put in place.

This notice also includes pool and beach bars, unless they fall under the restaurant license category. The news comes just after Dubai changed the rule that alcoholic beverages must be served with food in restaurants, but now has been put back in place.

Keep an eye out here for any changes in the matter.
