Just around the corner is a public holiday in the UAE, the last one was for Islamic New Year in August - so it's been a fair amount of time.

The next public holiday is for Prophet Muhammed’s (PBUH) Birthday on Thursday, October 29 - so get your bookings ready, car tanks filled for all the staycations and road trips possible for this 3-day long weekend.

Workers in the private and public sector will be given the day off giving many the opportunity to enjoy a three-day weekend for the Prophet Muhammed’s (PBUH) Birthday. Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, in the year 570 AD of the Gregorian calendar. The precise Gregorian date of his birth is unclear. However, Muslims observe Muhammed's birthday on the 12th day of the Islamic month of Rabi Al-Awwal, which is the third month of the Islamic year.
