In 1903, inspired by his success, Antoine Rumpelmayer opened the Angelina Tearoom, located at 226 rue de Rivoli, in Paris. He named the tearoom in honor of his daughter-in-law, Angeline Rumpelmayer.
The establishment rapidly rose to fame and became one of the most sought-after destinations of the Parisian aristocracy.
Generation after generation, the elegant tearoom has maintained its reputation. Celebrities such as French writer Proust, Coco Chanel (who always sat at the same table) and the greatest French fashion designers have crossed paths in the tearoom’s well-appointed salons.
