The holidays will be paid leave that can be used between October 2021 and March 2022

Dubai government employees to get 6-day exceptional holidays to visit Expo 2020

Further to his bike tour of Expo 2020 Dubai on Monday, 27th of September 2021, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council gave instructions to grant 6-day exceptional holidays to Dubai government employees to help them visit the exhibition.


They can use this paid holiday anytime during the period starting from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, and visit the Expo 2020, along with their families. Sheikh Hamdan’s decision shows his eagerness in supporting the government staff to have a balanced lifestyle, wherein they can develop deep connections with their family, colleagues and friends, as well as get more connected to work. This will help ensure their psychological and social stability, which in turn increase productivity in an environment easy to work and excel.


According to Sheikh Hamdan, Expo 2020 Dubai brings knowledge and creativity from places across the world, and it also helps experience diverse cultures. He further added that their objective is to make the theme of the expo “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” true and derive positive results.

He expressed his desire of having his team updated with the developments around the world, and be familiar with the ideas.


He made it clear that they have to learn from creative ideas and successful experiences of people and countries to develop new frameworks to attain ambitious goals the UAE is getting ready for the next 50 years.

With Dubai aiming for the highest levels of excellence, he presumes that the event is a rare opportunity for everyone in the team to make the most of the experiences they gain to develop the best practices and tools for ultimate solutions and progress further into the future for excellence and supremacy.


The Expo 2020 Dubai is a global event with 192 countries gathering together to exhibit their innovations, creativities and cultures for the first time in the emirate city. The event is happening at the right time when the world is trying to get over the COVID -19 pandemic situation.
