If motorists are found failing to give way, they will face a fine of AED400 and four points on their license.

With a graphic video statement, the Dubai Police have explained that refusing to give way in the fast lane is illegal.

Authorities have explained that this applies even though you are travelling within Dubai's speed limits. The Dubai Police and RTA are asking people to keep the fast lane open unless you're overtaking another automobile with the hashtag #GiveWayInTheFastLane

“Avoid tailgating and maintain a reasonable distance from the other car if the driver does not make room for you. Remember, the fast lane is just for overtaking, and emergency services still take precedence,” Dubai Police concluded in a video message.
